Had my first camel back run of the season today - I ran 8 miles, up hill both ways! Well, while not actually uphill both ways, it was uphill on the way back so it seemed like both ways. I do have to admit that I did seriously consider stopping on the hill by the water tower, I even considered stopping inorder to consider stopping on the hill by the water tower. However, this thought process was a long one and I was done with the hill before I had come to a conclusion - by this time I was commencing Operation F#@%ing Close to Home so I just kept going.
With my empowerment from my run I actually sucessfully cancelled my gym membership - this has been an ongoing process as I could not seem to call during business hours. After determining what the University of Michigan Department of Recreation's summer business hours where, I finally got someone on the phone only to find out I had to cancel in person - yes, they make you take your too-lazy-to-the-gym-so-need-to-cancel-your-membership butt to the gym to cancel your membership. You can join online, from home, at midnight, after you just ate a whole pint of ice cream in one sitting, but to cancel you have to show up and walk past all the sweaty people aerobisizing away on the precor, during business hours. The current theory is that it is a money making scheme with the gym knowing that, being to lazy to go in work out, you are not going to go in to cancel your membership. The final kicker is that I had to give 30 days notice, meaning that I have to pay for another month of the mental torture associated with being too-lazy-to-the-gym-so-need-to-cancel-your-membership.
