Square eyes

Summer has officially begun. With the new season I feel it's time to review the past season and by that I mean the TV season. I will remember the 2005-2006 TV year fondly-it saw the beginning of some actually funny sitcoms such as My Name is Earl and How I Met Your Mother as well as the end of some no longer funny sitcoms like Will and Grace. The L&O franchise kept me happy with a new show, Conviction, and the return of Det Logan on CI. The JJ Abrams family of shows said goodbye to Alias and added What About Brian, which I am not sold on. I also became a regular watcher of Lost this year with a Labor Day marathon of season 1 to get me caught up. This spring, I made the very difficult decision to travel during May sweeps, trusting Gabo could keep all my precious shows until my return. All in all it was a very strenuous TV schedule which, due to returning to school, I am going to have to cut back on, especially because I will no longer have Gabo so will not be able to watch at my leisure. So I say goodbye to 2005-2006-it was a good year.

This is the list of May Sweeps 2006 shows:
House
Law and Order
Law and Order:SVU
Alias
Lost
Invasion
Conviction
How I Met Your Mother
Grey's Anatomy
The Office
My Name is Earl
Injustice
West Wing
ER

This list does not include show I watch on a semi-regular basis, but have not necessarily committed myself to. They are:
CSI
Law and Order Criminal Intent
Medium
Numbers
Without a Trace

I've got the power

I love power steering! It's one of those situations where you don't appreciate what you've got until it's gone - while I was in New Haven looking for my apartment I drove a car without power steering. I am definitely not complaining because the car was loaned to me for which I am very grateful, and I get badass points for the parallel parking. It was a good experience because now I realize just how wonderful power steering is. I have to go turn with ease now.

I'm a big girl now

I signed a lease for my first big-girl apartment! I moved out of my parents house 7 years ago, but this first be the first place of my own and only the 2nd lease I have ever signed. I am very excited I am going to have an electric bill in my name-I feel so grown up.

The place is small, it's a studio, but the location is great and I really like the building. I'm really looking forward to living by myself-not that I don't like having roommates, but I'm ready to learn what I'm really like when left to my own devices.
