It's not you, or you - it's me

For the 2nd time this year I have a friend who has called off her engagement. Seriously, am I the anti-cupid?

Back by popular demand

I have officially finished my first semester and let me tell you - it was a real kick in the rear. Academically I did fine, even though I am actually only finished with 1 class (all done med-surg). My 2nd clinical rotation was a lot harder - it was on a medical floor than gets the infectious disease patients. Back in the day the infectious disease was TB, now it's HIV. The patients had very complicated medical histories and social problems - for may of them, their HIV status was the least of their problems. I really got to see the brokenness of the US health care system up close and personal. I did get to leave at the end of my shift, so I guess it was more like my face was smushed against the glass looking at the brokenness - a US health care system peep show, if you will. Luckily I ran out of money - for now.

Anyway, I come away with lots of new medical knowledge which will be very helpful if medical questions ever come up at Pub Quiz, or the NCLEX. Currently I am enjoying the Non-denominational December Holiday Gift Giving Season break and reacquiring my diaper changing skills. After 2 med-surg rotations, an 18 month old's poop almost seems amateurish.
