Gotta be in there somewhere
I, along with the rest of my class, am dealing with one of the biggest challenges new midwifery students face: finding the cervix. Considering that it is in a relatively small contained area you would think that it would not be that hard to find, but sometimes I can't find that darn thing for the life of me. A couple of times I have found it, only to not know what I was looking at. Not only do they all come in different shapes and sizes to begin with, but they also change as time goes by - especially if they have had a 6-9 lb object squeezed through them.

m&m's make every all better
It has been a rough week - academically speaking. I had 2 exams on monday: one in pathophys, which required memorizing alot of very detailed information that I promptly forgot about 2 minutes after the exam was over (if I don't know the krebs cycle by now, I'm never going to know it); the other was for Primary Care. However, due to a scheduling conflict with a guest speaker, the primary care exam became a take home. I was temporarily excited about this, until I realized that I had spent a lot of the weekend either studying for it or stressing that I wasn't studying for it because of patho AND it was still something that I had to do. This would not have been that big of a deal except Monday night I had the annual student-faculty midwifery potluck and on Tuesday I had physical exam skills check-off, which I had to cram for seeing I had spent all weekend studying for pathophys and primary care. grr argh.
Not sure how I did on patho or primary care, but the skills check off went well. It was rather stressful, but I made it (with some help of some tasty m's).
